iPhone Photo Monday: View from a Bridge
I heart my hometown. There are certain places and views that will never cease to make me stop in awe and have an urge to capture it on film...or whatever magic medium we use these days.
Don't go to far...I have a fabulous engagement session coming up very soon! If you like me on Facebook, you've already had a sneak peek!
Happy Monday!

iPhone Photo Monday: Blue
When I saw this lighted blue circle, I think I decided that I wanted one for Christmas. For my own backyard.
We decided to go out Friday night, because we never do it and we needed to make ourselves more interesting. Really. A typical end of the week celebration involves me, Ben, the couch and the TV. The lame part is that the majority of the interaction comes from the inanimate objects in that group - the sofa and the tube. Seriously, we rock the bottom end of the fun-o-meter.
Even though we are probably closer in proximity when we're curled up under fleece blankets (for me, that continues into the summer), going out to a noisy restaurant on a busy Friday night brings us closer in our relationship. I'm not sure if it's the gigantic change of scenery, or the fact that there's nothing else to do but talk as you wait the what-seems-like-hours-but-is-probably-a-few-minutes for your food. Or maybe it's the pre-dinner cocktails that we both know are a bad idea because we haven't eaten anything in hours and they go straight to our heads and we open up about what's really going on in our lives. Or maybe it's turning off the TV and finding we do still have things to talk about after 8 years.
Either way, it makes me about as happy as this blue circle. In fact, I'd rather have deep conversations than a blue circle to treasure forever any day of the year.

iPhone Photo Monday: Inner Child
One of the things I forgot to mention in my 25 things is that even though I look like I'm 24, I'm really five.
Since I was at my mom's house this weekend for a portrait shoot (which is coming soon...stay tuned!), I pulled out some of my random childhood treasures that still live there...and probably will for awhile to come. Thanks Mom, for being my free storage unit!
In the spirit of being a kid, which of course Ben knows and loves about me, my souvenir from his recent trip to Vegas was...CAKE POPS!!!
In other weekend happenings, I spent a great deal of my time calligraphy-ing some wedding invitations...apparently my cool handwriting might have found it's calling. I'm probably weird for enjoying the repetitive task of addressing 110 envelopes...but really, I find it soothing after a long day at work (seriously, did I just admit that???)
And finally, after a weekend of rain - hello, April showers, I'm more than ready for some flowers - I thought I might have to reschedule my little photo shoot again (the weather is just not listening to my empty threats and curses), but the sun finally decided to appear and just in the nick of time. Did you do anything fun this weekend?

The Weekend in iPhone Photos
I caved. It was time to upgrade phones, so what did I have to get? An iPhone of course.
And that means that I used it all weekend for taking pictures of none other than his royal highness that beloved cat o' mine.
I now present my first (hopefully) regular column...iPhone Photo Mondays, where I will show off the weekend in pictures. The pics below are mostly Instagr.am and Hipstamatic, but I am also in love with Pocketbooth. All of them are most favorite app. And in less than 24 hours, I have gone from non-texting, judging all people attached to their cell phones, to most obsessed iPhone user ever. I disgust myself, and my apologies to everyone around me. Oh, and sorry if you were the one I used to judge. I totally get it now.
But enough free advertising...on to the pictures!

I did at least attempt something other than taking pictures of my cat. I picked up some wedding magazines at my friendly neighborhood Target so that I could get some inspiration for my sister's and my best friend's weddings. We'll just pretend that I get no personal thrill from them and that my motives were purely altruistic. I mean, it's not like I have time to indulge in fantasies of my own (far off) wedding (even though I do anyway). With one attention-loving cat, two weddings to plan, and pictures to take, I think I have my hands full.
If nothing else, I hope the colors brighten your day today, even if you don't think Aslan is as cute as I do. I'm counting down the days until spring (only one more week!) and these hues totally make it feel that much closer. Here's to all things new...seasons and weekly columns...and embracing long-loved favorites...Aslans and weddings!

We have lots of nicknames for our baby...Fluffer Nutter is one of our favorites. See below if you don't understand.
