Christmas Q&A

10 Random Questions that are (mostly) Christmas related...ready, go.

1. What are 3 things that are on your Christmas wishlist?
It changes by the day. If you follow me on Facebook, you know I'm (futilely) wishing for a new camera. Which might be something that has perpetually been on my wishlist since I was in 7th grade. Otherwise, I have an amazon wishlist, which counts as one thing in my book, and of course world peace.

2. What’s your favorite Christmas song?
How to choose??? I mean, I love the entire Glee Christmas album, but really my favorite Christmas song is any one that I know all the words to and can sing along with (which is pretty much all of them, much to Ben's annoyance, I'm sure). But if I had to pick just one, I might have to go with Silent Night because it gets me all choked up every year when we sing it, by candlelight, at our Christmas Eve service. That, and Joy to the World, which my sister and I always alternate verses for singing the harmony, because that is one harmony that is better than the melody. See, I told you I couldn't choose.

3. Do you have a favorite band or singer that sings it especially awesome?
Uh, see the note about Glee Christmas album above. And also, me. I sing them all pretty awesome. Ha.

4. Have you heard about the website goodreads?
Yes, but have never been to it, although I've been told I should go. Might go on my New Year's Resolution list. If anyone feels strongly either way, put down your comment!

5. What are 3 books you want to read?
Again, I have to limit it?!?! You're making this so hard. Gail (side note: she also uses these questions on her blog) recommended The Language of Flowers to me in an email (another side note: I was giddy when I got that email...it was like getting an email from your favorite celebrity and thinking about it still makes me smile), and she also wrote a post about how much she loved The Book Thief. Jasmine Star also recently posted about some of her recent favorites, and one was Fifth Avenue, 5 am which is about Audrey Hepburn and the making of Breakfast at Tiffany's. And when I mentioned that one to Ben, he made some smart comment about how if it was about Audrey and my favorite movie and recommended by my favorite photographer, it must be the most awesome book in the library.

6. Do you hunt deer?
Absolutely not. I don't do guns, unless we're talking about the awesomeness of my arms. I broke the finger (yes, that one) when I was twelve because I didn't know what I was doing when I shot a rifle. Never gonna do that again.

7. Have you started Christmas shopping? Are you completely finished?
I have purchased half of one present. Don't judge. And if you're on my list, don't hate. I have so much to do this year (ie. upcoming weddings), I just might cross you off. But not really, because truthfully, finding exactly the right gift for each person is something I get excited about every year.

8. Did you shop on Black Friday? What was the best deal you got?
I was the one assisting all of those Black Friday shoppers. I went home and took a nap.

9. What’s one holiday tradition your family has?
We usually spend the holidays with my best friend from childhood and her family. They are some of my favorite people in the whole world and it would not be the holidays without them. Oh, and we usually play a board game after finishing Christmas dinner, which results in some of the loudest and heartiest laughter I experience all year.

10. How many blogs do you read? Do you subscribe/unsubscribe often or do you purge every once in a while?
I don't even want to count the number of blogs I read - and it's definitely too many to keep up with on a daily basis, even if I do check my google reader as often as I read Facebook. My blogs are my biggest source of inspiration.

And since we're talking about presents, here's a photo from my sister's bridal shower of her opening one of her fabulous wedding gifts...(not really related, but hey, I tried).

Happy Hump Day (and that was not a pun intended!).

  1. Anna, The Book Thief is FABULOUS - you will love it. Also put The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (and two others)by Stieg Larson on your list.
